Best Hakka in the area, good portions/price.
First, they have zero advertising on Kennedy Road, which is a shame! You can see the restaurant on Progress Avenue.
Small place, but prices are in the typical $8-$11 range.
Ordered Chili Chicken (Dry), Ginger Beef (No option for dry unfortunately), and one of their many dinner specials, which was rice topped with which we picked rice topped with chili chicken (with gravy).
Dry Chili Chicken portions and taste were both Great!
Ginger Beef (with gravy/sauce) was Good/Bad....the sauce was FANTASTIC, but the beef itself was NOT breaded and fried and was noticeably rubbery. Dont know why they dont have Dry Ginger Beef like Lotus Garden.
The Dinner Special with the Rice topped with Chili Chicken with sauce was overall very good. The specials are about $1-$2 dollars cheaper than other dishes.
I like the the Chili Chicken (Dry) most...big portions and about $10.00 (2019 CAD). And the sauteed onions and little bit of leftover sauce made it taste AMAZING.
Overall, recommended restaurant because it is more intimate spot and not hectic like Hakka Legend (which has much smaller portions and is more costlier compared to here). Lin Garden is a bit cheaper with same general options, and Lotus Garden has smaller portions to here.
If they set up advertising on Kennedy Road, it would def. help them... -

We stumbled on this restaurant about a year ago and have been back almost weekly ever since. We order the Devil Chicken (a magical mixture of a million spices that all work together), Manchurian Shrimp (in a thick, rich brown sauce) and Calamari (that are seasoned to perfection and the best I've ever eaten). The take out service is quick and ready in 15 minutes or less, but eating in is the best as the food is piping hot and perfect. We call our three choices the trifecta as they combine to make a fantastic dinner combination. The servings are generous and consistently good every time we've had it. It comes with a complimentary bowl of white rice which goes great with the Manchurian Shrimp sauce. We highly recommend this restaurant. It isn't fancy but the food is the best!!

Ordered thai chicken but it had nothing to do with thai. It was basically chinese deep fried chicken with hardly any chicken doused in a chinese style sweet and sour sauce. It was a big sloppy mess. How was this thai?? Also got beef with ginger, it came in the exact same sauce. Beef didnt taste tender and was missing all flavor. Ordered spring roles and they were so tiny, were all pastry hardly any filling. Was very greasy, just covered in the red sweet and sour sauce, creating a big nasty slop. You have nerve to sell this and call it food.

Ordered few times for pickups. Both service and dishes were great. Spring rolls are nice and not too oily. Manchurian chicken and satay beef are great, the only thing is kinda of hit and miss is the rice... I sometimes find the rice to be a bit too hard.. other than that, great Hakka restaurant!

Came here after a post workout meal. Ordered the crispy honey chicken and hot wok fried rice. Expected the dishes to be salty but it actually wasn't! The meat dish came with a medium Styrofoam white rice too.
The price is really reasonable. We're gonna come back for the chili chicken. Will probably come back because of the price, portions, and not salty dishes.
